Exploring the Inn Promenade With Laura and Yagoh

Exploring the Inn Promenade With Laura and Yagoh
Laura lives in Innsbruck – the jewel of the Alps – with her five-year-old Basenji, Yagoh. Together, they’re out on the Inn Promenade almost every day, whether it’s a little adventure in nature or a relaxed stroll through the city.
We love having a long stroll on the river Inn promenade. It’s a great place to catch a city vibe closer to the city centre with lots of people, cafes and parks along the way while on the other side further away You get a picturesque mountain view and shady forest walks - I love that it offers both vibes, we just have to choose our mood depending on the day!

Do You Have a Go-To Route or a Hidden Gem Spot You Always Return To?

We often walk towards the border of the city next to the river where there is a beachside next to the river. Access to the beach depends on the level of water in the river and when it’s high, there’s a stacking of rocks that form a pier – a great place to sit down and relax with a stunning mountain backdrop!

We love the Modena Harness and leash set! It’s super functional, durable and lightweight, perfect for adventuring around and at the same time looks amazing for everyday walks in the city!

What Should You Keep in Mind When Walking the Dog in Your Area?

Innsbruck is incredibly dog friendly! You can take Your best furriendalmost everywhere with You. Be prepared to meet lots of other dogs, both in the city and on the trails. But pack a leash and a muzzle as there are strict laws about dogs in public places. Innsbruck is amazing to visit all year round, the only tricky thing is that the weather can change pretty quickly due to the winds in the valley. The main reason why the locals often wear functional clothing and pack some extra layers just in case. One thing I always mention to dog owners about hiking the area – be aware of cows in the mountains, especially in the summer and if they have calves, it’s better to keep Your distance with a dog, as the mother cows can see dogs as a danger to the little ones and protect them at all costs.

What Makes This Walk Special for You and Your Dog?

It’s nostalgic as it was the first long walks we took with Yagoh when he was a puppy and we’ve had some other incredibly beautiful moments there – family photoshoots, stunning sunrise and sunset walks as well as relaxing weekends outdoors with our extended families.
